Wassiyah or Islamic Will

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Death is real and it is certain. It can come to anyone at any time without warning, so it is highly recommended for us to prepare for it.

Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception. [Holy Quran 3:185]

Before death come to us the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam strongly urge Muslims to make will. Insha Allah the following hadith is a reminder for me first and Muslim.

Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #51, Hadith #1)

Insha Allah to help us preparing our will you can download a sample will kit designed to be compliant with Islamic and Australian Laws at the Australian Islamic Will Kit. It deals with important aspects, such as:

* How you want to be buried
* How you would like to be washed

* etc
