Using a clip to prevent your Child's loss of hearing aid

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Muja missed her kindy again yesterday. Muja and me went to her hearing appointment at Australian Hearing. Since she has a bit of a cold, her audiologist said it was not a good time to do any test on her. When sick you will not get a good respond. He checked her ear and her right ear was a bit red. He made her a new mould because the current one is loose. Insha Allah will get them in couple of weeks.

When I raise the issue of loosing the hearing aid he suggested to put a double tape to stick the hearing aid on the back of her ear. Another thing he said was using the clip that attaches to a hearing aid, then clips securely to the child's clothing.

I forgot that Muja got this clip when she first got her hearing aid with its care kit three years ago. Insha Allah will use it later.

Before I end this post, this is a short reminder from the Islamic point of view about the purpose of hearing that our Creator give us.

"Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad SAW) calling to Faith: Believe in your Lord, and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abrar (those who are obedient to Allah and follow strictly His Orders).
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #193)

Insha Allah this is a short update on Muja. Please make dua for Muja's well being. May Allah reward you all Lightnur reader with goodness not only in this world but in the hereafter.

Finding an accessible wheelchair van

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

I am looking for a vehicle to replace my family wagon. The wagon is too small and leaves no more space for our family. Like mentioned in my previous post, my car has another transmission problem recently. I can't drive it anymore. The engine keeps going off while I'm driving.

I was thinking that since Muja will received her new wheelchair insha Allah on January, it is time to purchase a van that can fit a wheelchair.

I didn't know finding a wheelchair accessible van can be more complicated and a big headache. There are few vans that I saw that has the access to wheelchairs, but they are not in Perth. If I get one of them, I can't tell how good the engine is except for relying on my guess from the odometer reading. I also have to spend more for the shipping cost.

If I get a van that has no wheelchair access, I have to make sure that it is suitable for conversion to wheelchair access. Insha Allah I can try apply for funding assistance to install the wheelchair access in the future since it is not until January that Muja will get her wheelchair.

At the moment I am looking at my financial options. If I have one. Alhamdulillah, I have some saving. Loan with the bank is out of my options because of the interest. I am wondering if there may be someone who could give us a loan without any interest. Please contact me if you can offer me a loan with zero percent interest. Get real Lightnur! I can imagine people laughing at my silly thought. I am so serious. I only fear of Allah's anger and punishment. May Allah protect me from riba (interest) and purify my heart and intention only to please Him. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, my family members help me to look for the van by using their car or dropping me there. But now Alhamdulillah, my lovely friend let me borrow her car. May Allah reward them all with good in this world and hereafter.

The process of getting a wheelchair.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Yesterday Muja, her father and me went to Life Good Medical to order Muja's Zippie TS For Children wheelchair. Alhamdulillah we went there with her father's work transport after he received permission to use it only for important matter.

When we arrived Karlee, Muja's OT from The Center for Cerebral Palsy (TCCP), was already there with a student. Not long after that Monica, CP Tech Physiotherapis also from TCCP, came. They show us the wheelchair but the adult size. It looks big but we have to imagine it smaller. Then they did measurement for the seat. Alhamdulillah, we have decided which colour which I am going to suprise reader. Insha Allah keep reading until we get the wheelchair.

Karlee will do all the paper work for the funding assistance. I was told that we will insha Allah get it early next year. Meanwhile please make du'a on our behalf that the funding will go through for Muja.

Now is the waiting part, which I love very much because I learn how to be patience. I will end this post with the verses from the Quran.

"Except those who show patience and do righteous good deeds, those: theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (Paradise)." Al Quran 11:11.

"Salamun Alaikum (peace be upon you) for that you persevered in patience! Excellent indeed is the final home!" 13:24

Muja got her new hearing aids from Australian Hearing.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Alhamdulillah, Muja got her new Siemens Cielo 2P hearing aids from Australian Hearing. Today Muja, her oldest sister and me went for her fitting. Her audiologist, Micheal, did the setting while we wait for almost 40 minutes. Her hearing aids look similar that the one she has. Only its microphones holes are different. Her ear molds are a bit loose. I am afraid if they will get lost again like before. Insha Allah, it is not going to happen.

Since my car has a problem, we had to take a taxi there. Muja enjoyed the ride. The taxi driver was so nice and he gave us discount, Alhamdulillah. We get home by Transperth bus so we had to walk quite for some distance from the bus stop to our house. I stopped at the shop to get some groceries. It was too windy, but alhamdulillah not raining.

Alhamdulillah, it was a nice day out for me because I don't have to drive. I get to look around more because when I drive I concentrate on driving.

Don't turn away from Al Quran

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Masha Allah this ayat is an excellent reminder for me.

"But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Quran nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."

What colour should I get?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Monica, a physiotherapist from CP Tech was supposed to come with the stroller and wheelchair for trial last week, but she did not. On Friday, Karlee, Muja's OT called to arrange another meeting. So today Monica and Karlee came.

Remember on last post about should I get stroller or wheelchair for Muja?, it was the Kimba Stroller I prefer. I don't know why I choose it but may be deep inside me don't want to accept that Muja need a wheelchair for mobility sooner or later. Alhamdulillah I am over it.

I have made the decision.

The Otto Bock Kimba Stroller is very nice but its wide and is too big to fit through the door of our house. The girls like the Kimba too because of its look. They thought Muja look comfortable in it.

It is most likely we will get the Zippie TS because of that. Not only that Muja look like a baby in the Kimba, she look like a grown up girl in the wheelchair. It is also more appropriate for school. I forgot that Muja is not a baby any more. She will be in school full time next year.

So, Insha Allah we are going to get the Zippie TS and Monica from the CP Tech will custom made the seat for Muja according to her special needs. Alhamdulillah, now that we got the fund for her wheelchair, it wont be long until Muja ride on her new wheelchair with style. I wonder what colour should I choose?
